Bibobit / Osiecka is a musical endeavour and a biographical and psychological story. The winners of the 2019 Męskie Granie competition Bibobit together with Jacek Piskorz radically overturned the musical style of Agnieszka Osiecka's works, presenting jazz interpretations of the texts of the legendary master of the word. It is a very energetic journey through modern jazz, fleshy groove and electronics, in which the word does not move to the background but instead becomes a gateway to the author's inner world.
Agnieszka Osiecka needs no introduction. Her timeless texts accurately reach the audience, becoming a field of self-expression for many artists. For years, her phenomenal pen has inspired successive generations who rediscover the message contained in her words. This time, the question asked by Osiecka in the title "Co to za czas" (in Eng. What time is that?) became an impulse to create a beautiful musical story in which the writer speaks personally for the first time. The quoted words of Agnieszka Osiecka, both from songs and from archival interviews, turned out to be a phenomenal commentary on the image of the world with a mask on the face, on its knees after the outbreak of the pandemic (...) Each generation has its injury, but "it is possible to endure it", says the charismatic frontman of the Bibobit group, Daniel Moszczyński, who considers freedom and awareness as overarching values, which is reflected in the energetic, non-obvious arrangements of the songs and perfectly introduces them to the world of Agnieszka Osiecka and the strong message that flows from her texts.
Bibobit one of the most original bands on the Polish music market has already shared the stage with artists such as Michał Urbaniak, Leszek Możdżer, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Richard Bona, Dirty Loops, Keyon Harrold and Cory Henry. Their debut album, "Podróżnik" (in English The traveller), which features Urszula Dudziak, was described by the industry portal "JazzPRESS" as a firecracker of positive energy with the power of a thermobaric bomb. Enthusiastic reviews led the band to concerts in the largest Polish cities, including during such events as the Pol'and'Rock Festival and Męskie Granie.
This time Bibobit will take us on a unique journey into the world of Agnieszka Osiecka, presenting the material from the Bibobit / Osiecka album "Co to za czas", released in October 2021.
It all started with a festival concert at the New Theater in Poznań. Then, the band performed with Jacek Piskorz (also responsible for part of the arrangement), actresses and a string quartet as part of the 22nd Pamiętajmy o Osieckiej Festival.
