Judith Hill

Grammy winner, star of the American version of The Voice, and vocalist who has collaborated with Prince and Michael Jackson will perform on the Philharmonic stage.

Judith Hill is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Her music is a perfectly balanced blend of soul, funk, R&B, and pop, wrapped in an intriguing and original vision.

Hill’s professional journey in music began in the early 2000s when she became a backing vocalist for artists such as Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Ringo Starr.

In 2009, she was selected to join Michael Jackson on his This Is It concert tour. The tour never took place due to the King of Pop’s death. Still, recordings from the rehearsals and Hill’s performance at Jackson’s funeral drew the world’s attention to her name. A wider audience also had the chance to discover her remarkable vocal talent during the fourth season of the talent show The Voice. As the story goes, it was thanks to this program that Prince himself noticed her and later became the co-producer of her debut album.

Hill’s work has also been recognized by the world of cinema, including by Spike Lee. She was one of the protagonists of the acclaimed, Oscar-winning documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom, for which she was honored with a Grammy Award from the American music industry.

This year, Hill is enchanting audiences across Europe on tour, presenting her long-awaited new album Letters from a Black Widow. She will be accompanied by an outstanding lineup of musicians: Peewee Hill (bass guitar), Michiko Hill (keyboards), and Shadrack Oppong (drums).
