On May 16, 2026, the Szczecin Philharmonic will once again open its doors to visitors taking part in the European Night of Museums – this time for a preview presentation of an exhibition created as part of the Hunting for Painting festival. The exhibition will be available to visitors several days before its official opening.
Haunting of Painting, prepared as part of the Hunting for Painting 2026 festival, is an exhibition that approaches painting as a medium of constant return – present not only in the classical form of the image, but also in structure, materiality, and artistic practices extending beyond the frame itself.
During this unique night, visitors will have the opportunity to see works by artists associated with the Academy of Art in Szczecin before their official presentation. The exhibition develops a polyphonic narrative about the continuity and transformation of the language of painting, emphasizing its enduring position within the field of visual arts and its ability to reveal the elusive, “haunting” themes of contemporary reality.
